The Temptation

Hey there, you look hungry
Why don't you turn this stone to bread?
Hey there, you say you command angels,
Why don't you jump off this ledge?
I am the master of this land,
I hold the world in the palm of my hand,
I have the power you seek,
Just kneel to me, you are week!

Get the hence, I know who you are!
You are the one, the fallen star.
Man shall not live by bread alone,
to kneel to you I can't condone!
You are less than a man,
You offer me what you don't have.
I worship my father alone
I don't need you! Leave me alone!

You foolish child! You do not see...
The power that's been given me.
The kingdoms all bear my name
Thier lives and mine are one and the same!
They lie and cheat and steal and swear
by that name they say they hold dear
Why do you think I taught them these things?
They belong to me... NOT YOUR KING!

They're yours now, that may be true.
That's why I have work to do!
My dear Lucifer, You will loose!
Those who in your trance do snooze.

Satan get the hense, I shall not ask the thrice.
For my love for them I'll pay the price.
I do know what lies ahead.
I know that I shall raise the dead.
Their Salvation lies with me,
From your chains I'll set them free.
